Bui Quang Binh

Abstract: In the context that cooperating and connecting for the region’s sustainable development are an emerging requirement in the Southwest region, this paper presents major findings of a study on sustainable development aspects that are vital for the regional inter-connected development of the Mekong delta. These aspects include typical natural conditions, human resource quality, public - private production cooperation, government bodies that coordinate the work, and the quality of infrastructure. Factors of connection are found to be weak, the connection of spaces is limited, and all the planning, resource allocation and administration are currently designed for the provincial level but not for the regional level. Recommendations for the regional linkage development of the Southwest of Viet Nam are discussed.
