Abstract: While countries around the world have made significant progress in passing laws and policies to reduce tobacco use, little progress has been made in doing the same for alcoholic use in Vietnam. Excessive use of alcohol has been reported as one of the main causes of diseases and social consequences in developing countries. The use of alcohol is also the cause of violence, especially domestic violence, crime, loss of security and order. This article aims to  provide an evidence base for enacting a Law on alcohol control in Vietnam.
